Six-Week Metalsmithing Workshop

Join me for a six-week, beginner-friendly metalsmithing workshop series at our beautiful new studio in downtown Bingen! This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone 18+ who is curious about the world of metalsmithing—no experience necessary.
Throughout the six-week workshop, we’ll cover:
- Sourcing materials
- Workshop safety & tool talk
- Setting up a home studio
- Finding creative inspiration
- Core metalsmithing techniques: soldering, sawing, forming, bezel setting, and finishing work
What to Expect
Each student will have their own dedicated workspace, fully equipped with the tools needed for each project. Every day begins with a demonstration, followed by ample studio time to explore, practice, and create. This workshop will focus on metalsmithing fundamentals and each nights project will be simple to ensure students are able to practice the basics. You can expect to finish three to five pieces of jewelry depending on your own personal progress throughout the series.
This workshop is a space for learning and experimentation. Mistakes are welcome, creativity is encouraged, and I’ll be available throughout each day for one-on-one support, extra demos, and troubleshooting (yes, even when things melt—it's all just part of the process!).

- Enough metal sheet and wire to complete each nightly project
- Access to a wide selection of stones from my inventory, including turquoise, jasper, and more.
- All tools needed for workshop use
- 18 hours of instruction
Additional silver and stones will be available for purchase at daily Rio Grande pricing, if needed.
Meals + Amenities
No food or beverages are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Our studio has a fridge, microwave, glassware, and utensils for your convenience.
Sales, Registration, & Cancellation Policy
This workshop series requires a minimum of four participants to proceed. You’ll be notified of event confirmation or cancellation no later than 7 days prior. This is a small business with limited capacity, so please read our cancellation policy carefully:
- 50% of the course fee is non-refundable up to 30 days before the event.
- No refunds within 30 days of the class start date.
- If the class is cancelled by the host, you’ll receive a full refund.
- No refunds will be provided in the case of force majeure.
- Any classes missed by the student are non-transferable. If a single class is cancelled by the host (ie: due to severe local weather or otherwise) that class will proceed on the following Thursday (March 12th and/or 19th as necessary.)
