🔨 Three-Day Metalsmithing Intro Workshop

Join me for a three-day, beginner-friendly metalsmithing workshop at our beautiful new studio in downtown Bingen! This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone 18+ who is curious about the world of metalsmithing—no experience necessary. 

Throughout the weekend, we’ll cover:

• Sourcing materials
• Workshop safety & tool talk
• Setting up a home studio
• Finding creative inspiration
• Core metalsmithing techniques: soldering, sawing, forming, bezel setting, and finishing work

What to Expect

Each student will have their own dedicated workspace, fully equipped with the tools needed for each project. Every day begins with a demonstration, followed by ample studio time to explore, practice, and create. This workshop will focus on metalsmithing fundamentals and each days project will be simple to ensure students are able to practice the basics.

Here’s our project schedule (subject to change):

• Day 2: Earrings
• Day 3: Necklace

This workshop is a space for learning and experimentation. Mistakes are welcome, creativity is encouraged, and I’ll be available throughout each day for one-on-one support, extra demos, and troubleshooting (yes, even when things melt—it's part of the fun!).

What’s Included

• Enough silver sheet and wire to complete each daily project
• Access to a wide selection of stones from my inventory, including turquoise, jasper, and more
• All tools needed for workshop use

Additional silver will be available for purchase at daily Rio Grande pricing, if needed.

Lunch + Amenities

We’ll take a one-hour lunch break each day. Lunch is not provided, but students are welcome to bring their own. Our studio has a fridge, microwave, glassware, and utensils for your convenience. Bingen also offers several nearby dining options, all within walking distance or a short drive.

Sales, Registration, & Cancellation Policy

This workshop requires a minimum of six participants to proceed. You’ll be notified of event confirmation or cancellation no later than 7 days prior. This is a small business with limited capacity, so please read our cancellation policy carefully:

• 50% of the course fee is non-refundable up to 30 days before the event.
• No refunds within 30 days of the class start date.
• If the class is cancelled by the host, you’ll receive a full refund.
  
• No refunds will be provided in the case of force majeure.

Traveling from out of town? I highly recommend:

• The Society Hotel & Spa (walking distance!) — options from bunk rooms (~$50/night) to full cabins. Don’t miss the spa!
• The Inn of White Salmon — locally owned, just a short drive away.
